The Novafold 110 A2 folder-gluer is the latest Bobst folder-gluer which was globally launched in January 2022.

Announcing the sale, Arvind Dhand, national sales manager for Indian Subcontinent, BUPC folding carton at Bobst India, said, the Novafold 110 A2 folder-gluer will allow the company to produce a wide range of box styles, in different materials – carton board and corrugation, at speeds of up to 350-m/min. “The machine is capable of producing four- and six-corner boxes, double-wall as well as tubelight and conical type boxes in an open blank size of 1100-mm.”

Focus Print & Pack is run by three partners, Bharthinathan, Vivegan Raj and Gopinath, and specialises in producing packaging for the garment and spare parts industries.

The reason for Focus investing in the Bobst folder-gluer was that the company wanted to bring the pasting part of the operation in-house. The company converts 500 tonnes of paperboard and corrugated material. Most of the boxes it produces do not require pasting, and where it did, it used to outsource it. “With the quantum of pasting jobs rising, the company thought it fit to bring the operation in-house,” said Dhand.

Focus compared other options available in the market but found Novafold to be a cut above others in terms of quality, stability and performance. When PrintWeek spoke to Bharthinathan, he said, “The process knowledge and knowhow of Bobst with its 85 years of experience are unmatchable when compared to its peers. So, the Bobst was the obvious choice when we decided to invest in a folder-gluer.”
