Equipment and systems group Gerhard Schubert will be making its debut appearance at Gulfood Manufacturing beginning this weekend in Dubai, showcasing its latest range of systems, writes Neill Barston.

In total, manufacturers from  over 60 countries will gather between 7-9 November, with the latest production and packaging solutions, with the  Gerhard Schubert GmbH is taking part in the German pavilion in Hall 2, Stand E2-8, and will be showcasing its highly efficient, robot-assisted packaging systems.

Usually held annually, Gulfood Manufacturing is the largest food and beverage manufacturing and packaging exhibition in the Middle East, Asia and Africa. Topics covered will include ingredients, process technology, packaging technology and supply chain solutions for the food and beverage industry.

This year, visitors will have many opportunities to find out about the latest processing and packaging technologies to produce their goods faster, more efficiently and with higher quality at the World Trade Center Dubai from 7 to 9 November. The Yummex confectionery fair, the Private Labelling and Licensing fair and the Speciality Food Festival will also be held on the exhibition grounds at the same time as Gulfood Manufacturing.

The German pavilion, where packaging machine manufacturer Schubert is exhibiting, is a joint stand under the “Made in Germany” motto. The trade fair is organised by Koelnmesse GmbH with the support of the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy (BMWi). In Hall 2, Stand E2-8, on an area of 20 square metres, Schubert will be providing information on its latest technological innovations for packaging food and beverages, as well as its modular, robot-assisted top-loading packaging machines.

Sales Account Manager Adnan Akman and Sales Director Martin Sauter are looking forward to welcoming customers and interested parties to Dubai, and to presenting a wide spectrum of packaging solutions ranging from pick & place applications to cartoners.

Meanwhile, a new chapter has begun in the company’s French operations. Luc Jamet has handed over his responsibilities as Area Sales Manager to Charles-Antoine Freiher.

The transition represents a generational change, but for the new site and sales manager in France, the focus is clearly on customer satisfaction and ensuring impeccable service.

In 2008, Schubert opened a sales and service location in the country at Compiègne. Luc Jamet, who had been working the French market for Schubert since 1983, took over from the Crailsheim site. Together with his team, he strengthened the confidence of French manufacturers in the flexible, “made in Germany” packaging machines and succeeded in continuously expanding the site into one of Schubert’s most important markets. Luc Jamet recounts: “Back in the 1980s, Schubert recognised that flexible, automated packaging machines were important and therefore embraced robotics technology at a very early stage.”

In July 2021, Charles-Antoine Freiher took over from Luc Jamet as Sales Manager following an in-depth induction phase in Crailsheim. With him, Schubert has gained an established expert in the field of packaging and packaging machines.

Freiher was previously Sales Director at Aries Packaging. He also has extensive expertise in the field of filling machines and packaging solutions for dairy products, beverages and food from his time at Synerlink. “In the past, I only knew Schubert as a competitor and am now delighted to be working for the company itself. The family business from Crailsheim has always been a trendsetter and of course intends to remain so. High-level creativity is needed to achieve this,” says Freiher.
